Lena, aged 61
Lena was the oldest of seven children. She lived on a farm near Lawrence, Kansas, until she was five years old when her family moved to a farm near Findlay in Hancock County, Ohio. Her parents were originally from Hancock County and still had family there.

March 29 - Husband Tillinghast dies at home, aged 70, of heart attack while sitting at his desk.
