Lena was the oldest of seven children. She lived on a farm near Lawrence, Kansas, until she was five years old when her family moved to a farm near Findlay in Hancock County, Ohio. Her parents were originally from Hancock County and still had family there.

    January 10 - Born in Lawrence, Kansas. The first of seven children born to Aaron and Jennie (nee Strother) Glathart. [1]

    Aged 5 - Family moves to farm near Findlay in Hancock County, Ohio.[2]

    February 27 - Marries Tillinghast L'Hommedieu Huston in Hancock County, Ohio.[3]

    October 23 - Daughter Bernice born.

  5. 1891

    September 5 - Daughter Frances born.

  6. 1893

    Son Harry born January 17, but dies of typhoid fever July 20, aged 6 months.[4]

  7. 1894

    March 20 - Son Arthur Tillinghast born.[5]

  8. 1896

    Daughter Helen born March 9, but dies June 20 of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), aged 3 months.[6]

  9. 1938

    March 29 - Husband Tillinghast dies at home, aged 70, of heart attack while sitting at his desk.[7]

  10. 1943

    July 25 - Daughter Bernice dies, aged 52.[8]

  11. 1949

    November 4 - Dies in Brunswick, Georgia, aged 80 years. Buried in Frederica Cemetery, St Simons Island, Georgia.[9]
