Footnotes and Sources
All information listed in Emeline Letitia Harrison's timeline above was sourced from:
Heman Ely, editor, including material collected by Mrs. Amanda (Ely) Terry, Records of the Descendants of Nathaniel Ely, the Emigrant, who settled first in Newtown, now Cambridge, Mass., was one of the first settlers of Hartford, also of Norwalk, Conn., and a resident of Springfield, Mass., from 1659 until his death in 1675 (Cleveland, Ohio: Short & Forman, Printer and Stationers, 1885), page 158. I suspect the dates and/or names for daughters Emma Josephine is incorrect. While it was not unusual for parents to give the name of a deceased child to a subsequent child, they are highly unlikely to give the name of a still living child to a subsequent child. This will need further research.
